Welcome to Your New Home
Moving into a new home is exciting, and we want to make the process as smooth as possible. Here's what to expect from the moment you pick up your keys through your first few weeks as a PPM resident.
Before You Move In
Before your move-in date, make sure the following are complete:
Your lease is fully signed and returned
Your security deposit and first month's rent have been paid
Renter's insurance is in place and a copy has been provided to PPM (required before keys are released)
Utilities have been transferred to your name effective your move-in date
You'll receive a confirmation from us once everything is in order and your move-in date is confirmed.
Picking Up Your Keys
Keys are released on your lease start date once all move-in requirements are complete. PPM will coordinate key pickup or access instructions with you directly. If you have questions about timing, contact us at [email protected] or call (973) 646-4422.
Move-In Inspection
Within the first few days of moving in, you'll receive a Move-In Condition Report. This document records the condition of the unit at the time you take possession. It's important that you:
Complete and return the report within the timeframe specified (typically 3β5 business days)
Note any pre-existing damage, wear, or issues with photos if possible
Return the form through your tenant portal or by email
This report protects you when you move out β it establishes what was already present before you moved in.
Set Up Your Tenant Portal
Your tenant portal is your home base for managing your tenancy. Through the portal you can:
Pay rent online (see How to Pay Rent Online)
Submit maintenance requests
View your lease and important documents
Communicate with PPM
If you haven't received your portal invite yet, contact us and we'll resend it.
Utilities and Services
You are responsible for setting up utilities in your name before or on your move-in date unless your lease specifies otherwise. Common utilities include electric, gas, and internet. Check your lease for any utilities that PPM covers on your behalf.
