Late Fees and Payment Deadlines

We want to make sure you always know exactly where you stand with rent. Here are the key dates and policies that apply to all PPM tenants in New Jersey.

When Is Rent Due?

Rent is due on the 1st of each month.

Grace Period

New Jersey law provides tenants a 5-day grace period. Rent paid on or before the 5th will not incur a late fee.

Late Fee

If rent is not received by the end of the 5th, a late fee will be assessed per the terms of your lease. The amount and structure of the late fee is specified in your lease agreement.

Partial Payments

Partial payments are accepted but do not stop the late fee clock. If the remaining balance is not paid by the 5th, a late fee applies to the outstanding amount. Repeated partial payments or chronic late payment may be cited in an eviction proceeding.
